Importance of Water!

Water is one of those things that goes completely unnoticed until you make a conscious effort to notice it. It is the #1 thing we should be consuming every single day, and without it homeostasis within our entire body is lost! A few of the roles water plays in the body is: body temperature control, blood volume regulation, cell transportation, contributor to chemical reactions in the body, toxin release, and many more. Although water can be consumed through some foods (watermelon, cucumber, bell peppers, etc) it is primarily consumed through liquid forms, and that is my focal point.

Consumption of water in both quantity and quality is important. The average person should be consuming at least half their body weight in ounces, since your body is made up of about 60%+ water it is important to stay on top of that. If you drink coffee, a protein shake, have sun exposure, exercise, or many other scenarios, you need to up your water intake past that! Losing 1.5% of your water weight can bring you into dehydration. Dehydration can be a contributor in many health conditions like: heartburn, lower back pain, rheumatoid joint pain, migraines, fibromyalgia, and neurological disorders. Maintaining a healthy balance of water intake will maintain homeostasis throughout your whole body!
